MILTON — Climate Action Planning Committee advances stakeholder meetings and energy initiatives. Chair Alex Hasha's committee voted unanimously to approve March minutes and moved forward planning for Conservation Working Group meeting in May and Waste Working Group stakeholder event in September, with the latter targeting 10 percent recycling contamination and doubling composting households from 300 to 600. Municipal Energy Manager Kai Mueller's written update reported finalization of a CELT Municipal Fellowship proposal with UMass Lowell due April 17 and a Green Communities competitive grant application for a variable refrigerant flow heat pump system at the Council on Aging.
Associate Member J. Hale Smith secured GreenerU commitment for a June geothermal and building electrification public presentation, with CAPC co-sponsorship. Transportation Working Group plans outreach on zero-emission vehicle policy ahead of the June Climate Leader Communities designation deadline.
