Council on Aging Approves By-Laws Amendments

Milton Council on Aging approved by-laws amendments adding a mission statement and office address to the organization's formal bylaws.

Council on Aging · Meeting of September 14, 2026

Milton Council on Aging approved by-laws amendments adding a mission statement and office address to the organization's formal bylaws. The amendments, noticed in the Milton Times two weeks prior, renamed Article II to include the Council's mission to support and advocate for residents over 60 through programs promoting independent living. Chair Janet Mullen called for the vote, which passed unanimously.

The Board separately voted on a request from Milton Housing Authority Director Earl Fay for a letter of support for Community Preservation Act funding for elderly housing improvements; the motion to obtain additional information failed, 5-6. Mary Anne Merrigan was appointed as an Associate member during the transition to Old Colony Elder Services.
