Council on Aging approves December minutes with correction, hears 2025 highlights

Milton Council on Aging approves prior minutes and reviews 2025 operations. Chair Loraine Sumner and the board unanimously approved December 8, 2025 minutes following a correction from Associate Member Debra Fidrocki and the Treasurer's Report showing Gift Account holdings of $184,709.14 and Van Account holdings of $226,080.87. Director Christine Stanton reported the council welcomed 429 new participants in 2025, held 2,225 events generating 26,256 sign-ins, and provided 6,396 rides to 118 individuals; the council serves 3,959 registered members representing approximately 45 percent of Milton's population age 60 and older.
Stanton requested $120,000 in capital budget funding for a replacement van that would arrive in spring 2027 if approved by the State.
