MILTON — Fire Station Building Committee advances Atherton Street project with Option 3 selection. The committee voted unanimously to pursue Option 3 for the fire station, which preserves the existing structure while adding two apparatus bays at an estimated cost of $16.1 million. Chair Brian M.
Walsh outlined the committee's strategic questions about the project's necessity and timeline. Fire Chief Christopher Madden addressed operational needs that have evolved since the original study. Town Administrator Nick Milano recommended requesting $1 million at the upcoming town meeting for design and project management costs, a move that would represent approximately a 1 percent tax increase if approved.
The committee also approved the December 2025 vendor invoice packet and three change orders totaling $5,827.80.
