Milton Budget Coordination Committee projects $2.5 million deficit in FY27 absent spending controls. Town Administrator Nicholas Milano presented revenue estimates of $150.9 million, a 3.4 percent increase, against expenditure growth of 5.2 percent for schools and 3.65 percent for town departments. Superintendent John Phelan stated that limiting school growth to 3 percent would require staff reductions and indicated his department could target 4.5 percent growth, with a budget due by end of January.
To balance the budget, Milano outlined a scenario limiting all departmental increases to 2.38 percent.
