Milton Budget Coordination Committee advances FY27 budget development. Town Administrator Nicholas Milano outlined a $200,000 debt service reduction by restructuring payments for two capital projects and proposed reallocating health insurance costs to other funding sources. Superintendent John Phelan expressed support for using Free Cash to strengthen the Operating Budget Stabilization Fund.
The School Department is evaluating new revenue through increased fees for athletics, clubs, and facility rentals. A joint meeting of the School Committee Finance Committee, Select Board Finance Committee, and Warrant Committee is scheduled for February 4 to finalize the budget target.
