Select Board approves MSBA enrollment certification; advances FY27 budget plan with $2.47M deficit.
Select Board · Meeting of January 13, 2026
Milton Select Board advances FY27 budget forecast showing 2.47 million dollar deficit. Town Administrator Nicholas Milano presented preliminary spending projections of 153.4 million dollars against 150.9 million in revenue, with Milton Public Schools accounting for 76.7 million dollars of the total. Health insurance costs are projected to rise 10.81 percent to 19 million dollars.
Milano cautioned that the town must identify departmental reductions to balance the budget; property tax revenue is projected to grow only 3.31 percent to 119.2 million dollars, and the town will exhaust its free cash reserves. The board also unanimously approved the MSBA Enrollment Certification for the school project and granted multiple liquor licenses and park permits for 2026 events.
