Shade Tree Committee advances spring tree-planting and funding plan.
Shade Tree Advisory Committee · Meeting of February 10, 2026
MILTON — Shade Tree Advisory Committee locks in $40K for spring tree purchases. The funding combines $10,000 from DPW operations, $20,000 from the Capital budget, and $10,000 from the Copeland Foundation, designed to plant 140 trees across Milton. Co-Chairs Nancy Chisholm and Fred Taylor and members including William Madden and Maritta Manning Cronin coordinated with town departments in a February coordination meeting led by Madden.
The committee also approved a detailed species-and-quantity breakdown for each of three staggered orders this spring, with Branch B. Lane, the Milton Tree Warden, tasked with obtaining the spring list from Amherst Nursery and identifying precise planting sites for 12 Eversource trees on Edge Hill Road.
