MILTON — Warrant Committee sends historic buildings bylaw back for study, backs solar initiative. The panel voted nine to zero with two abstentions to recommend the town send a proposed demolition-delay bylaw back for further clarification, citing concerns that language defining "substantial portion" of a building was too vague. Chair James H.
"Jay" Fundling separately moved four solar energy articles through approval with nine to zero votes and one abstention each, endorsing energy credits, payment-in-lieu agreements for renewable facilities, and solar storage systems at the fire station, town hall, library, and animal shelter. Committee member Brian McGuire presented analysis concluding solar panel purchases would generate twenty eight thousand dollars in annual savings, despite higher upfront costs than leasing. The panel also unanimously recommended approval of a one million dollar Atherton Fire Station renovation study.
