Town Meeting · Meeting of October 14, 2026

Milton previewed a $11.75 million land purchase ahead of next week's Town Meeting vote. Select Board Chair Winston Daly and Warrant Committee Chair Jay Funley presented Article 6, buying the 4.77-acre Labouré property at 303 Adams Street, and Article 7, a $1.2 million study of a possible pre-K/kindergarten campus there. Funley calculated the Labouré option would cost the town "$1.9 million less per year to finance" than the existing $130 million Gile Road middle school project.

A December 15 debt exclusion ballot would finalize the purchase if Town Meeting approves it first. Town Meeting member Cindy Christensen disputed the town's elementary classroom data, saying officials used outdated counts and that "we're two years past the time that we brought it to the attention of town government and still nothing has been done." No votes were taken at the information session.
