Board of Appeals Approves Eaton Street Garage Permit
Milton's Board of Appeals granted a special permit to rebuild a nonconforming garage on Eaton Street.
Other Committee · Meeting of June 22, 2026
Milton's Board of Appeals granted a special permit to rebuild a nonconforming garage on Eaton Street. Zoning Administrator Virginia Donahue King approved homeowner Sean Dacey's request to reconstruct and expand a 20-foot-5-inch by 25-foot-4-inch garage that sits within a seven-foot nonconforming setback, after the building department had initially denied the permit under Milton Zoning Bylaw Article 4, Section 275-4.1B. Architect Gavin Driscoll of Lighthouse Architecture and Design presented plans adding roughly six feet toward the lot's interior and a bonus room above.
Eight abutters, including James Murphy and Brian McNaughton on Eaton Street and Kathleen Carlson on Rockwell Avenue, signed letters of support, and no one spoke against the application. King called the project "tastefully done," noting neighbors were "very much in support," and said the decision now heads to the town clerk to start a 20-day appeal window before a building permit can issue.
