CPC Backs $300,000 for Tucker Playground
Milton's Community Preservation Committee backed $300,000 for the Tucker Elementary School playground ahead of a fall Town Meeting warrant article.
Other Committee · Meeting of July 20, 2026
Milton's Community Preservation Committee backed $300,000 for the Tucker Elementary School playground ahead of a fall Town Meeting warrant article. The committee, chaired by Tom Callahan, found 19 of 22 fiscal 2027 applications eligible for funding, with two rejected and one withdrawn, against nearly $6 million in requests and roughly $1.19 million in annual revenue. Members postponed a roughly $3 million request for the Atherton Street fire station, citing missing budget detail.
Member Pete Jackson objected to favoring Tucker ahead of 18 other eligible applicants, saying "I don't think it's very fair in this process," but the committee approved the recommendation unanimously by roll call. The committee also welcomed Camelia Jackson, known as Cam, as its first staff coordinator in more than a year and set review meetings for October 5, October 19, November 2, November 16 and December 15.
