Milton Board of Health fines two gas stations $1,000 each and suspends tobacco licenses for 14 days. Health Director Caroline Kinsella, BSN, RN, RS told the board that a Massachusetts Health Officers Association compliance check on March 10 found a 19-year-old was able to buy cigarettes at Milton Shell, 11 Bryant Ave., and Milton Fuel, 352 Granite Ave. Business representative Jason Audi appeared before the board, acknowledged the violations, and said he had retrained staff.

Chair Laura Richards, Esq., moved for consistency with prior board practice, and the board voted unanimously to impose the $1,000 fine at each location and a 14-day suspension beginning April 15. The board also approved in concept a rolling opioid abatement camp scholarship program offering up to $2,500 per recipient for residents directly affected by opioid use disorder, after months of effort to fund three mental health platforms were blocked by state officials who directed the town to advertise the free Massachusetts Behavioral Health Line instead.
