Milton conservation board flags 1982 deed restriction on Flatley Field turf plan. In an informational-only session, Park Commission Chair Carolyn Cahill and consultant Ryan presented a synthetic-turf, lighting and parking concept for Flatley Field, drawn from a 1,300-response survey showing the town short three to four multipurpose fields. Conservation Commission Chair John Kiernan and Commissioner Thomas Palmer said a 1982 conservation restriction barring "temporary or permanent structures" may block the plan outright.

"Aren't I sort of over a barrel here?" Palmer asked. Kiernan cited a prior split-vote turf fight upheld by the state DEP and, on appeal, a 44-page state ruling on PFAS and runoff. No application was filed; commissioners agreed to seek a town counsel opinion before proceeding.

The Conservation Commission voted unanimously to adjourn.
