Milton Conservation Commission Closes Milton Woods File, Hears Two New Wetlands Applications

MILTON — April 14, 2026 — Milton Conservation Commission votes 5-0 to close wetlands file on Milton Woods subdivision after eight-year restoration. The commission, meeting April 14, unanimously issued a certificate of compliance for the Milton Woods development at 175 Governor Stoughton Lane after engineer Dave Farrar of Machianda and Associates reported that all buffer zone restoration areas are fully vegetated following initial plantings in 2018 and replantings in 2023 and 2025, with a June 2025 inspection by SWCA environmental consultants supporting the finding. The board also opened hearings on two new applications: a two-lot residential subdivision at 515 Blue Hills Parkway, where consultant Garrett Tunison of Tunison Environmental Consultants described 12,927 square feet of buffer zone disturbance and subsurface stormwater infiltration, and a field-and-tree restoration at Glover Elementary School funded by a Community Preservation Committee grant. Member Tom Palmer, identifying himself as a 40-year Milton botanist, challenged two plant species on the Blue Hills application's delineation list as "not giving me the confidence that it was made on site." Both new applications were continued to a public site walk tentatively set for April 18 or May 2. The commission also noted the resignation of member Ingrid Beatty after 19 years of service.
