Select Board · Meeting of October 13, 2026
Milton Select Board voted 5-0 to expand its Traffic Mitigation Subcommittee and authorize new speed-calming funds amid resident complaints of 70 mph speeds. Resident Miguel Rosales told the board "we are way beyond what should really be acceptable for a street like Milton," citing recorded speeds of 68 to 70 mph on Upper Canton Avenue. The board added a sixth resident seat to the subcommittee's charge and voted 5-0 to let the Director of Public Works spend more than $25,000 in Transportation Network Company surcharge revenue on speed-feedback signs.
Town Administrator Nicholas Milano said Milton has certified $6.4 million in free cash for fiscal 2027, though up to $2 million could be needed for collective bargaining reserves. The board also appointed Adam Chair to the Climate Action Planning Committee's student seat and approved a one-day liquor license for St. Agatha Parish's Oct. 24 event.
