Select Board · Meeting of September 22, 2026
MILTON — The Milton Select Board voted 5-0 to freeze the town's Flock license plate reader contract for 90 days pending legal review. Police Chief King defended the cameras, citing their role in solving a wharf shooting and a domestic violence case, saying "I'm dying on a sword for Flock." Member Meghan Haggerty said her concern centered on "the whole premise of the national network of sharing information" rather than the department's internal controls. The board separately voted unanimously to approve an $11.75 million purchase and sale agreement for the 4.77-acre Labouré College campus at 303 Adams Street and set a December 15 townwide special election on the related debt exclusion.
Acting as Governor Stoughton Trust trustees, the board also approved $12,000 for Health Department food-insecurity programs, and separately voted to reduce the fiscal 2027 PEG Access Enterprise Fund appropriation from $500,000 to $450,000.
