Finance Committee · Meeting of August 10, 2026
MILTON — The Milton Warrant Committee questioned School Building Committee Chair Sean O'Rourke on Laboree College school costs but took no vote on the purchase. O'Rourke said three design options for the 4.7-acre site range from about $42 million to $85 million, versus roughly $130 million for a previously studied Gile Road middle school after state reimbursement. Member Nick Tangney asked "what's the fallback plan" if the town buys Laboree but doesn't build there.
Town Administrator Nick Milano said the Select Board made a confidential offer on the property, with a response expected by week's end. The committee separately voted to recommend $363,469 added to the FY27 reserve fund, $424,000 in bond surplus applied to a fire engine purchase, and $2,280,000 in water main bonding, with Jay Fumling the lone abstention, on the fire-engine vote.
