Other Committee · Meeting of June 8, 2026

Milton Library Trustees learned the "Yellow House" next to the library is for sale and said the town should consider buying it to solve a long-standing parking shortage. A trustee said the asking price is near $2.995 million, comparable to an earlier $3 million estimate for a standalone parking garage, and that Town Administrator's office staff member Nick Milano and the Select Board were set to discuss the purchase in executive session June 9. Any purchase would likely require a fall town meeting vote.

The board also voted unanimously to allocate up to $2,000 for children's librarian Tori Fisk to attend the ALA conference and $500 for the annual Friends volunteer luncheon. Trustees separately discussed converting a scholarship fund, now down to $2,500, into multiyear awards, with one member saying donated funds "wasn't raised to sit on" unused.
