Milton Select Board puts vacant School Committee seat on town election ballot
Select Board · Meeting of February 23, 2026
Milton Select Board unanimously votes to place vacant School Committee seat on town election ballot. Meeting remotely during a February snowstorm, the board acted on a single agenda item after School Committee Chair Amanda Serio submitted a letter of resignation to Town Clerk Susan Galvin, effective on the day of the upcoming town election. Town Administrator Nicholas Milano explained that a formal board vote was required to add the one-year remainder of Serio's term — running through April 2027 — to the existing ballot, avoiding a separate special election.
The chair praised Serio's service and called her resignation timing "thoughtful" for sparing the town the added expense and logistics of a standalone vote.
