Select Board approves 12.5 million dollar regional dispatch center grant

Milton Select Board unanimously approves 12.5 million dollar regional dispatch grant. The $12.5 million grant application for a Regional Emergency Communication Center with the City of Quincy was approved by voice vote (5-0), with $10.9 million dedicated to equipment and technology upgrades and $1.5 million to staffing and training. The state is expected to provide approximately $2.589 million in annual support once operational.
The Board also unanimously approved release of the Request for Proposals for the East Milton Fire Station property at 525 Adams Street and gave positive approval to Town Administrator Nicholas Milano's performance evaluation. Building Commissioner Michael White reported 22 accessory dwelling unit applications currently pending and recommended updates to local zoning bylaws.
