MILTON — The Milton School Committee voted unanimously to back $300,000 in Community Preservation Committee funds for the Tucker Elementary School playground. Tucker PTO co-presidents Marie Kigelman Silva and Haley Byron said the $1.4 million project has already drawn $113,000 from the community, $250,000 from the state and a pending federal award, calling the local fundraising "incredible." The committee also gave final approval to a roughly 120-student Milton High School music trip to Orlando, Florida, for February 2027. Members spent nearly an hour debating a separate Select Board article to buy the $11,750,000 La Veray property and a related article funding a school-site study there, with one member warning against "diluting our attention" from the Gile Road project already in state review.
Chair Loring said the committee would take a position October 7, the last meeting before fall town meeting.
