MILTON — The Milton School Building Committee discussed how the town's newly accepted $11.75 million offer on the Lab Array property could factor into its school-building search, without taking a final vote. Chair Sean O'Rourke, Town Administrator Nick Milano and Superintendent John Phelan planned a September 18 meeting with the Massachusetts School Building Authority to ask about adding a pre-K/kindergarten enrollment option, which staff estimated could delay the broader project by about a year. Member Scott Tereshach said the site "doesn't look like it meets the needs that we were set out to solve seven years ago," and member Tim Lombard warned the town risked paying "upwards of 70 percent of the cost" for a project solving "less than 50 percent" of its task.
The committee approved its August meeting minutes 7-0 and reviewed four architect submissions ahead of an October 6 designer selection panel. Members adjourned 7-0, with the next meeting set for September 28.
