School Committee · Meeting of September 28, 2026
Milton's School Building Committee reviewed four architect finalists and warned a pre-kindergarten add-on could delay its school project by up to two years. Members compared proposals from SLAM Architecture, JLA, DLR Group and Arrow Street ahead of an Oct. 6 designer-selection panel meeting. Committee member Nathan Hutto said the town must decide "do we value timely completion of the project, or cost savings," while the chair called the project's repeated detours "the eighth time we've done a parallel path." The committee discussed a $1.2 million Article 7 fall Town Meeting appropriation for a non-MSBA pre-K study at the Library site, on top of $1.5 million already committed to the current MSBA feasibility study, but took no position.
Members approved prior meeting minutes 5-0 with one abstention and scheduled their next meeting for Oct. 14.
