Milton Planning Board delays vote on short-term rental bylaw, eyes Board of Health route instead. Attorney Robin Stein of KP Law told the board it could regulate day limits and inspections through Board of Health rules under Chapter 111 while handling land use through zoning, since a general bylaw needs only a simple majority versus a two-thirds vote for zoning. Resident Omar Al-Assad asked the board to drop any cap on rental days, saying "short-term rental was really a lifeline for us." Secretary Cheryl Tougias pushed back on any suggestion the board's months of work had been wasted: "I said best use of time." The board plans a public forum in September and adjourned on a 4-0 roll call, with member Hal Munger's vote not recorded.
