Other Committee · Meeting of September 23, 2026

Milton's Commission on Disability scored more than 20 parks and conservation sites for ADA accessibility but took no votes due to a lack of quorum. Only members identified as Diane and John attended, joined by prospective member Joe, a Milton High School student, and consultant Craig and Assistant Planning Director Avanti Grady presented a 127-page draft transition plan. Diane said nearly $1 million built the Beverly Park playground on land she contends remains legally designated article 97 conservation land, telling the group "we cannot call this property conservation land" without resolving ownership through town counsel and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.

The Pope's Pond parcel, tied to $100,000 in town funds and $170,000 in Community Preservation Committee grants, received the plan's top priority ranking. Diane said improper Select Board appointment terms have left the nine-member commission without a reliable quorum for at least two years.
