Other Committee · Meeting of September 15, 2026
Milton's Board of Appeals approved two special permits allowing homeowners to exceed setback and height limits for second-story additions. Hearing officer Virginia Donahue King granted a permit to David and Kelly Twitchell of 2 Andrews Road to add a second story to their garage, raising it to 23.67 feet, above the 21-foot limit, to fit a golf simulator for their son, a Milton High School golf player. She also approved a permit for James and Ann O'Connor of 24 Bassett Street, whose son Tim O'Connor is the project contractor, for a 24-by-26-foot second-story addition with setbacks as tight as 1.2 feet on a deck.
No members of the public objected to either application. Both rulings require a 20-day appeal period before building permits can be issued, with King calling the Twitchell project supported by letters from eight neighboring addresses.
